EIT Food Assessment is a vital part of EIT Food, dedicated to upholding the highest standards in quality, research, and innovation. The name “EIT Food Assessment” signifies excellence in certification, monitoring, and services for certified professionals.

With a focus on customer orientation, expertise, independence, and impartiality, we are a trusted partner for companies, institutions, and authorities. We ensure non-discriminatory access to our services for all clients.

Quality management of our certifications

Quality is a comprehensive concept that includes the excellence of processes and outcomes in personnel certification and their interaction within EIT Food. Our efforts are centred around the customer, ensuring satisfaction with our certification, monitoring, and service offerings. We provide a transparent, comparable, and independent verification of personnel skills based on the latest scientific and technical standards, enhancing employability.

The Quality Management Handbook (QMH) documents the responsibilities and procedures for all quality-related activities. This handbook is binding for all individuals involved in service delivery. The institute’s management supports the maintenance and development of the QM system, which is overseen by a Quality Management Representative (QMR).

Independence and impartiality in all our services

Established as an autonomous unit, the EIT Food Assessment certifies personnel qualifications based on evaluation, examination, and periodic monitoring. Our activities are conducted independently, without directives from EIT Food, and strictly follow the guidelines established in the Quality Management Handbook.

The certification personnel perform their tasks objectively, impartially, and fairly. EIT Food Assessment provides the necessary resources and facilities for their duties. All processes are continuously reviewed for potential conflicts of interest and promptly reported to management. All applicants who meet the access requirements defined in the normative documents and examination regulations have non-discriminatory access to our services.

Data protection and confidentiality

Relevant laws and regulations require all EIT Food Assessment employees to be bound by confidentiality. Customer-specific information brought to the attention of EIT Food Assessment personnel in connection with their duties must not be disclosed to third parties without prior consent, even after leaving the company. EIT Food Assessment and its personnel must take appropriate measures, including technical ones, to protect confidential or proprietary information from customers or third parties during the certification process from unauthorized access.

This confidentiality obligation also applies to certification agencies and their personnel and examiners appointed and acting on behalf of EIT Food Assessment. Their appointment and membership require confidentiality regarding examination questions and materials.

Disclosure of conflict of interest

All individuals involved in the certification process are required to disclose conflicts of interest transparently. Doubtful cases should be addressed as early as possible, preferably in advance. This is done by reporting to the head of the certification body, who decides on further actions.

Compliance with guidelines

All employees of EIT Food Assessment and individuals involved in the certification process sign a declaration to comply with the guidelines on impartiality, confidentiality, and handling conflicts of interest.
